The Institute of Austrian and German Music Research (IAGMR), founded in 2018 within the Department of Music and Media at the University of Surrey, offers a platform for pioneering research into Austrian and German music. It challenges traditional 'Austro-German' formulations and the assumptions of 'unmarked' culture, and explores underrepresented or suppressed musical repertoires.
