The Design Research Group investigates how design affects industry and society. It fosters innovative design collaborations, intertwining technology with human interactions, develops sound methods and tools for product design, and partners with a range of organisations—from start-ups to large corporations—to pave the way towards sustainable futures.

The Group's focus areas encompass the entire design process, from tools and methods to theories, spanning several key themes:
