The Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies (OCBS) was established in 2004 to promote the academic study of Buddhist texts, societies, theories, and practices within the University and beyond.
The centre is dedicated to upholding the highest academic standards. The OCBS also aims to enhance understanding of the significance of Buddhist insights across various academic disciplines and collaborate with leading institutions to apply Buddhist approaches to contemporary issues. Activities of the OCBS include online and in-person teaching of Buddhist Studies, organising conferences, lecture series, and sponsoring guest lectures. The centre provides a vibrant academic environment at its location in Wolfson College, Oxford. Additionally, it publishes the OCBS Monograph Series and the Journal of the Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies.
