Nottingham Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP)

The Nottingham Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP) is the major centre in Europe studying the impact of globalisation and economic policy and one of the biggest of its kind in the world.

Established in 2001, GEP has a well-founded reputation in the study of international trade, foreign direct investment, immigration and the political economy of globalisation and were pioneers in the application of micro data to these questions.

GEP's research activities are structured around five research programmes, linked by the common theme of globalisation:

  • Political Economy of Globalisation
  • Globalisation and Labour Markets
  • Globalisation, Productivity and Technology
  • China and the World Economy
  • Trade, Economic Policy and Development
