Nottingham Centre for Social Philosophy

Description

The Nottingham Centre for Social Philosophy seeks to provide an organisational locus for rigorous critical philosophical research into the nature of social phenomena, in particular around 4 focus areas.

The centre wants to link together researchers, social theorists, activists and others from across and outside of the University to answer key questions that matter to how the social world is understood.

The centre is currently focusing on questions relating to:

  • Policing and carceral institutions
  • Recreational subjectivities
  • Making and unmaking social categories
  • Liberatory models
