Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE)

Description

The Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE), established in 2013, is the foremost research centre in the UK focusing on ethnic, racial, and religious inequalities.

CoDE's research encompasses five main themes:

  • Mapping inequality
  • Economic disparities
  • Education
  • Culture, politics, and activism
  • Health, mental health, and aging.

The centre's researchers are affiliated with universities in England and Scotland, specialising in diverse disciplines such as sociology, demography, economics, history, geography, political science, cultural studies, epidemiology, and public health.

CoDE collaborates closely with partner organisations in the voluntary and community sector, local and national government, education sector, and policymakers to disseminate their research to a wide range of audiences. The core research program of CoDE is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, with additional projects receiving funding from the Lankelly Chase Foundation and the Nuffield Foundation.
