Digital Technology, Communication and Education (DTCE)

Description

The Digital Technology, Communication and Education (DTCE) Research and Scholarship Group was established in response to increasing interest among researchers and practitioners in the role of digital technology in education. Based at the Manchester Institute of Education (MIE), this group adopts a broad perspective on 'digital education', encompassing research, policy, and practice.

With a critical, inclusive, and multidisciplinary approach, DTCE strives to produce high-quality research and scholarship, facilitate accessible knowledge exchange activities, foster interdisciplinary collaboration within The University of Manchester and internationally, and provide a supportive environment for digital education research development.

DTCE conducts various research and engagement initiatives, including currently across five interconnected thematic areas:

  • Digital Communication
  • Digital Inequalities
  • Digital Media Practice
  • Sustainability in Digital Design and Learning
  • Civic Futures
