Power, Space and Cultural Change

Description

The group of social, cultural, political, economic, and historical geographers is characterised as vibrant, collaborative and collegial. Their research is theoretically and methodologically rigorous, socially meaningful and empirically grounded. The cluster's work is shaped by five key areas of inquiry: Material Mobilities; Activism and Alternatives; Histories, Pasts and Memories; Governance and Discipline; and Knowledges, Identities and Everyday Practices.

These themes reflect the group's diverse yet interconnected research expertise and their commitment to exploring how power, space and cultural change fundamentally shape the world. They inquire about these themes across multiple fields, such as alternative economies, decolonial activisms, carceral spaces, health and embodiment, maritime spaces, rural environments, migration and movement.
