Global and Transregional Studies Research Group (GTS)
Description
The Global and Transregional Studies Research Group (GTS) brings together an inter-disciplinary group of scholars at the College of Arts and the University of Lincoln who share research interests in international, transregional, and global studies.
Researchers are increasingly interested in transregional research approaches in history, art/architectural/material history, social and political history, heritage, music, archaeology and the digital heritage, among others. ‘Global comparisons’ present epistemological challenges that are shared among several disciplines present at the University of Lincoln. Scholars in the group are developing excellent research and publication projects on a wide variety of topics, some of these themes are, for example, Pan-European cultural circulations, the material histories of Asia and Africa, urban and architectural histories of the Caribbean and Latin America, North American histories, histories of architecture in the Global North, and transnational histories of empire, sexuality, gender and political history among others. Members also explore the histories of race in Britain and the experiences of diaspora communities and their descendants in the UK.
