East Midlands Violence Reduction Information Network
Description
The East Midlands Violence Reduction Information Network (VRIN) is a collaborative effort between academic and practitioner partners from the five East Midlands forces, as part of the East Midlands Policing Academic Collaboration (EMPAC).
This project has been made possible through a strategic grant from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Accelerator Accounts (IAA) strategic fund. VRIN aims to advance knowledge and exchange information on the prevention and reduction of public space violence, leading to better policing operations within the region and beyond. The project involves a variety of partners, including the EMPAC, which combines academic research and professional policing insight to promote innovation in policing in the East Midlands and elsewhere. Other partners include the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Violence Reduction Network, the Northampton Community Initiative to Reduce Violence, the Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Unit, Derbyshire Police, and Lincolnshire Police.
