Leicester Medieval Research Centre
Description
The Leicester Medieval Research Centre, which was established in 1996, serves as a coordination hub for interdisciplinary research and teaching in medieval subjects across the College of Social Science, Arts, and Humanities (CSSAH) at the University of Leicester.
Its objectives include hosting conferences, colloquia, and a program of lectures and seminars by local and visiting speakers. The Centre warmly welcomes enquiries from prospective students and scholars looking to develop research projects and links with the Medieval Research Centre at Leicester.
The Leicester Medieval Research Centre has a vibrant postdoctoral and postgraduate culture, with people associated with the Centre either engaged in innovative research projects or pursuing Masters and research degrees in the full range of disciplines represented within the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities. Over 15 research-active staff work on the medieval period within Archaeology and Ancient History, History (including the Centre for Regional and Local History), English, and History of Art and Film. Scholars in the Centre regularly secure funding for major research projects. The Centre is affiliated with CARMEN: Co-operative for the Advancement of Research through a Medieval European Network.
