Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies
Description
The Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies, located in the Modern Languages department at Leicester, offers advanced study opportunities and research in the fields of translation and interpreting.
Since its launch in February 2011, the Centre has played a crucial role in developing these programs and research opportunities for staff members. It has also facilitated collaboration with the wider academic community within and outside the University of Leicester. The Centre has established strong connections with the Middle East, China, the Far East, as well as local and national institutions.
The Centre offers a range of services to the academic and wider communities, including the organization of research seminars, conferences, and hosting visiting speakers. It also supervises research students and hosts academic visitors and fellows. The Centre offers expert advice to the public and provides short courses for external clients.
The Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies is a corporate member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and collaborates closely with them. It is also part of the regional East Midlands group.
