Digital Humanities Lab, Exeter
ActiveDescription
At Exeter, researchers integrate digital methods and practices into the heart of their research. Members are fascinated by the interdisciplinary opportunities and diverse new fields of study opened up by digital research, and we host an expanding range of projects in this specialism. Digital Humanities opens up new areas of study in a diverse array of subject areas, and ensures that the scholarship that underpins research and teaching is more accessible, more efficient, and more widely understood than ever before.
We specialise in areas such as high-resolution 2D image capture, 3D capture and photogrammetry, visualisation and hosting of 3D models, Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI), Photometric Stereo, collections management and hosting with visualisation through digital mapping and geotagging, IIIF image hosting, linked open data, training in TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) and EpiDoc editions, 3D print technologies and conservation-sensitive digitisation. We also consider potential projects in the Social Sciences around data collection, management and analysis
Our funded internships provide undergraduates with digital skills relevant to the digital humanities, cultural heritage and are focused on equipping students with transferrable skills and enhancing their employability.
We are happy to be approached for academic or technical collaboration, potential partnerships, and commercial consultancy in areas around our specialisms. Please see our website for examples.
