Edinburgh Centre for Data, Culture & Society (CDCS)
Description
The Edinburgh Centre for Data, Culture and Society (CDCS) brings together a vibrant network of researchers engaged in exploring the potential and implications of data-led and and digital research methods. Our mission is to empower researchers through building capacity for data-led and applied digital research across the arts, humanities and social sciences.
We believe in the value of critical and creative exchange between technology and the arts, humanities and social sciences and we facilitate innovation in data-led and digital research methods through supporting and leveraging cross-disciplinary skills sharing and experimentation. We provide our community with space for experimentation, innovation and skills development, offer technical services and give tailored advice and support to research groups and projects.
The Edinburgh Centre for Data, Culture & Society (CDCS) is part of the Edinburgh Futures Institute, one of the hubs of the Data Driven Innovation programme established as part of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal. As data and digital technology transform our university, our city and our world, CDCS and EFI aim to ensure that the vital contributions that the arts, humanities and social sciences make to this transformation are recognised and celebrated.
