Parity in Practice
Description
Parity in Practice is a multi-disciplinary cluster that brings together academics, students, practitioners, activists and community members to explore the role of meaningful democratic participation in imagining alternative practices in arts, pedagogy, and policy.
The Cluster unites those from a variety of disciplines and various locations around the world to offer collaborative, comparative, and practical approaches to parity in practice. The overarching aim of this unique cluster is to unpack and critically engage with issues of equality and inclusion in ways that spark open discussions around how the university, community, and society might foster meaningful and lasting change in these areas which members see as essential to social and cultural progress in the institution and beyond.
Cluster’s founder members have international research profiles and foci, including areas of queer, feminist, and critical race theories, global diaspora studies, art and literature, inequality in the creative sector, cultural policy and participatory policy making. The Cluster collaborates with institutions and practitioners and welcomes students from all levels to join the cluster putting parity into practice.
The Cluster has an exciting line-up planned for Spring 2023, including talks, arts events, workshops and community engagement initiatives. Stay tuned.
