Arthur Miller Institute for American Studies
Description
The Arthur Miller Institute for American Studies is an initiative designed to further interest in the study of the United States, to promote major new research projects, and to facilitate the movement of people between Britain and America. It runs two annual awards for American Studies in conjunction with the British Association for American Studies: the Miller First Book Award and the Miller Article Award. The AMI encompasses the American Studies Research Centre and the Department of American Studies at UEA but also welcomes colleagues and students working on American-related topics from across the university.
Areas of research interest include, but are not limited to:

- Gender and sexuality
- American foreign policy and international relations
- Power and protest
- Materiality
- Film and popular culture
- Law, politcs, and the US Constitution
- Environmental activism
