Centre for Criminal Justice Research and Partnerships

Description

The Centre for Criminal Justice Research and Partnerships is a dynamic collaboration of academics from a broad range of disciplines who can respond in a timely and innovative way to the challenges faced by a diverse range of external partners.

There are five key project groups:

  • Prisons
  • Youth and Justice
  • Policing, Mental Health and Criminal Justice
  • Violence and Aggression
  • Cybercrime

Each group is led by a senior academic in the University with a broader team consisting of academics from a variety of disciplines; the Mental Health and Criminal Justice strand, for example, consists of academics from policing, nursing, community health, art design and fashion, law, management, psychology, criminology and social work.

The Centre draws on the knowledge of academics across University of Central Lancashire and its partner agencies to deliver evidence-based research, evaluation and advice in all areas of Criminal Justice. Partners include prisons, probation, policing and the third sector. The Centre's strength lies in the multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to criminal justice.
