Urban Humanities

Description

This cluster aims to advance and support research expertise and activity in the urban arts and humanities, and to increase the visibility of that research both within the Faculty of Arts and beyond.

It seeks:

• to explore the contribution made by the arts and humanities to urban studies and understandings of the city;
• to share theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches; to advance new ways of conceptualising the city in its material, discursive and virtual dimensions;
• to identify exciting new possibilities for urban humanities research and engagement;
• to facilitate connections between scholars working on the city in different departments and disciplines and thereby enable exchange of ideas and approaches.
