Centre for Arts and Wellbeing

Description

The Centre for Arts and Wellbeing fosters a membership of academics, creative practitioners and health practitioners across the University of Brighton. The Centre explores and develops connections between the arts, and individual, social and environmental wellbeing.

The Centre's research and enterprise strengths - in drawing, materiality, inclusive design and narrative - are enhanced through collaborations with experts across nursing, midwifery, mental health, psychology and medicine.

The Centre is organised through seven themes representing creative practice approaches:

  • Art, Healthcare, and Illness

  • Arts and Ecology

  • Creative methodologies

  • Inclusion through narrative

  • Making well

  • Sustainable Places

  • Performance and Communities
