The Centre for Sustainable Engineering focuses on the design, development, and enhancement of engineering systems, processes, and products that are efficient and sustainable without compromising the natural environment.

Work spans three key areas:

  • Smart energy and smart grid
  • Construction innovation and research
  • Hydrogen engineering and decarbonisation technologies

Through multidisciplinary approaches, the centre undertakes research in areas including digitalisation, informatics, cybersecurity, automation, energy management, sustainable technologies, artificial intelligence, distributed control and social science in energy-related and construction applications.
