Centre for Translation Studies, SOAS

Description

The Centre for Translation Studies aims at exploring and developing area-based Translation Studies across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. While addressing questions of Translation Studies, which developed largely based on western languages, the centre aims to focus and shed light on regional translation practice, theory, and philosophy.

With School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) expertise in more than 40 Asian and African languages and cultures, and academic staff who passionately study these, the centre aims at establishing new perspectives through area-based Translation Studies.
