Cambridge Committee for Central and East European and Eurasian Studies (CamCCEEES)
Description
The Cambridge Committee for Central and East European and Eurasian Studies promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration in the study of Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia at the University of Cambridge. It also represents to outside bodies the interests of these areas of studies at the University. The Committee is administered through the Slavonic Studies Section of the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics.
The members of the Committee work across a wide range of departments and faculties across the arts, humanities, social sciences, and STEMM at Cambridge to advance knowledge about the diverse cultures, economies, and societies of the region. During the academic year, the Committee organises and hosts a series of evening seminars and other special events with leading scholars, artists, and practitioners, which are open to the general public.
Note: the Committee changed name from the Cambridge Committee for Russian and East European Studies (CamCREES) in autumn 2023 to reflect more accurately and equitably the breadth of its membership representation and subject areas. Some of the Committee's online presence currently still refers to its previous name.
