ARK
Description
ARK is Northern Ireland’s social policy hub. Established in 2000 by researchers at Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, its primary goal is to increase the accessibility and use of academic data and research.
The Hub work includes:
- A suite of three annual public attitudes surveys
- Conflict Archive on the Internet (CAIN)
- A critical policy unit
- A programme of work focused on ageing
- A wide range of public engagement activities
The team is based across the campuses of Ulster University and Queen's University Belfast. Knowledge-based policy is key to a healthy civic society.
ARK provides robust and independent evidence, which forms the basis for critical policy debate and informed policy making. Researchers, policymakers, journalists, community and other voluntary groups, schoolchildren and their teachers are all users of ARK – in fact anyone with an interest in social and political issues in Northern Ireland will find ARK invaluable.
