Print Culture Research Unit (PCRU)
Description
The Print Culture Research Unit (PCRU) is an important focus for research in print culture and publishing studies in the Oxford International Centre for Publishing. The unit's research strengths lie in the materiality of texts – specifically in the history of the book, publishing history, textual scholarship, the sociology of texts, the digital text and also in creative writing.
Colleagues in the centre have generated research on diverse topics including: colonial and postcolonial print culture, war literature, social media, magazines and writing processes. They represent the fields of publishing and print culture studies at an international level and contribute to the networks that define this field of scholarship. The unit has established research collaborations with academic institutions, both national and international.
