Tennyson Society

Description

The Tennyson Society was founded in 1960 by Sir Charles Tennyson, the poet’s grandson, with the aim of promoting the study of Tennyson’s poetry. In its annual Research Bulletin, it now publishes new material on Tennyson’s life, work and contemporaries. Based in Lincoln UK, it is a truly International Society, with members in the UK, USA, Canada, India, Japan, Australia and elsewhere, and a series of international conferences have brought distinguished Tennyson scholars to Lincoln from across the world. Each year the society holds a series of events in Lincoln as well as an annual Tennyson Weekend in, for example, the Isle of Wight or the Lake District. The society now also has Zoom events and lectures which bring its large international membership together.
