Created and Contested Territories

Description

The Created and Contested Territories is a research group within Norwich University of the Arts, in the United Kingdom. Group members are drawn from a diverse range of fields including architecture and the arts, history, critical theory, visual effects and applied physics. United by research on a common theme, the group’s work is characterised by a dialogical approach and robust outcomes forged through disagreement.

This diverse group of early career researchers and practitioners work within the precepts of conflict theory to question dominant narratives around of contested space. Typically, the group adopts a critical stance toward past social arrangements, and by implication, contemporary representations of ‘reform’.
