Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design (CoESBD)
Description
The Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design aims to produce graduates in architecture and engineering that can not only demonstrate knowledge and skills within their own discipline, but are also informed about challenges in sustainability and the need to take a multidisciplinary approach to shape cities and towns so they effectively contribute to a wealthier, fairer, healthier, safer, and ultimately sustainable society.
At Heriot-Watt University, the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design is a collaboration between the Institute of the Built Environment and The Urban Institute. Initiatives include embedding a number of multidisciplinary student projects within its programmes, ranging from week-long to semester-long collaborative projects.
