Comparative Public Policy, Administration and Regulation Research Group (CPPAR)

Description

The study of public administration and public policy has been central to the London School of Economic's (LSE) mission and the Department of Government has been at the heart of internationally leading comparative public policy and administration research and teaching. More recently, it has extended its scope in the field of regulation.

Among the group’s strengths are its international outlook and its methodological and theoretical openness. The group has a substantial breadth and diversity of interests; including the study of public organisations, policy instruments, the interaction between politicians and bureaucrats, implementation and enforcement, sustainability policies, the relationship between expertise and politics, and regulatory policies.
